Newer homes, different questions

Compared with the city's 1960s and 1970s tracts, Vista del Verde homes are much newer. Builders in later decades used a range of layouts and pipe materials, and some ran supply lines overhead rather than under the slab. So in Vista del Verde, start by finding out where your pipes run. Their age comes second.

A plumber familiar with your floor plan can tell you whether your supply lines pass under the concrete, through the attic and walls, or a combination.

Questions to ask a plumber

  1. Do my supply lines run under the slab at all?
  2. What pipe material was used in my home?
  3. If a leak is overhead, how will the opening be repaired?
  4. Does any repair need a permit? I will check with the City of Yorba Linda.
