Shower and tub leak examples
Invented examples, not records of real jobs or customers. Each one follows a common Fullerton bathroom problem through the tests that find the source and the repair that usually follows.
Every example here is illustrative, built from common situations. None is a real job, customer or address.
- Example: a ceiling stain that only grew after baths This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It shows how timing and a simple test can separate an overflow leak from other causes.
- Example: a cartridge seized by hard-water scale This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It shows how a routine cartridge swap can change course when hard-water scale is involved.
- Example: swollen baseboard beside a stall shower This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It walks through ruling out the walls and drain before concluding a shower pan had failed.
- Example: scalding bursts from an old three-handle valve This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It shows how a temperature-swing complaint led to a valve replacement decision.
- Example: a loose tub spout leaking behind the tile This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It shows how a small, early spout repair can prevent a larger wall repair.
- Example: damp floor by the shower that wasn't the shower This is a hypothetical example, not a real job or customer. It shows why ruling out a pressurized leak comes first, even when the damp sits right next to the shower.
