Common questions

What if I'm not sure which level a problem belongs to?

Treat it as the more serious level. Shutting off water costs little; waiting can cost a lot.

Should I call SoCalGas or a plumber for a gas smell?

Leave first and call 911 or SoCalGas from outside. A plumber can repair gas piping once it is safe.

Can I use the house after shutting off the main?

You can stay if it is safe, but you will have no water until the leak is repaired or isolated.
